The Turkish state-run Anadolu news agency has released the schedule for high-level diplomatic meetings set to take place in Istanbul on Friday, involving delegations from Ukraine, the United States, Turkey, and Russia. The talks aim to address pathways toward resolving the ongoing war.
According to Anadolu, two trilateral meetings are planned for May 16 at the Dolmabahçe Palace, the official residence of the Turkish president.
The first meeting, scheduled for 10:45 a.m. local time, will bring together representatives from Ukraine, the U.S., and Turkey.
Later in the day, at 12:30 p.m., delegations from Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey are slated to meet.
As of now, there is no official word on whether a four-party discussion involving all countries will be held.
Anadolu reported that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will participate in the meeting between Ukrainian and Russian delegates. The U.S. side will be represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Ukraine’s delegation will be led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, with President Volodymyr Zelensky appointing a total of 12 officials to take part in the talks.
