Ukrainian man charged in arson attacks on properties linked to UK PM

A 21-year-old Ukrainian national has been arrested in London in connection with multiple arson incidents involving properties tied to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to a statement released Thursday evening by London police, Roman Lavrynovych faces three charges of arson with intent to endanger life. Authorities say the charges stem from the burning of a vehicle previously owned by Starmer, as well as two failed attempts to set fire to a rental property linked to the Prime Minister.

“Lavrynovych was arrested on the morning of May 13 and remains in custody after a warrant was granted to extend his detention. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 16,” police added.

Starmer previously condemned the attacks, calling them “an attack on all of us, on democracy, and on the values we stand for.”
