A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Denmark on suspicion of helping Hamas obtain drones for a planned attack. The Danish intelligence service (PET) linked the case to a December 2023 operation aimed at preventing a terrorist act.
Six individuals were arrested during that operation, with four taken into custody in absentia, including the suspect—who is reportedly a known figure in Copenhagen’s organized crime scene. The man was extradited from Lebanon related to a separate double murder case and appeared in court on Monday, where he was ordered held in custody until June 11.
Flemming Dreier, head of PET’s operational department, stated the suspect is accused of acquiring drones meant for Hamas “in a terrorist attack at an unknown location in Denmark or abroad.”
The Danish intelligence service added, “PET and the prosecution believe that this individual is a leading member of a banned criminal organization and has connections to Hamas.”
