The Polish Sejm has passed a law banning the sale of all types of e-cigarettes to minors, including both nicotine-containing and nicotine-free devices, according to RMF FM.
The bill was supported by 417 members of parliament, with one voting against and 10 abstaining. The legislation will now be reviewed by the Senate.
The initiative is an amendment to the “Act on the Protection of Public Health Against the Effects of Tobacco and Tobacco Products,” prepared by Poland’s Ministry of Health.
Under the new regulations, it will be prohibited to sell the following to individuals under the age of 18:
all types of e-cigarettes (including nicotine-free ones),
refill cartridges and containers,
nicotine pouches (nicoboosters).
The law also bans the sale of nicotine pouches in healthcare facilities, schools, educational institutions, sports and entertainment venues, vending machines, and self-service systems.
In addition, the legislation restricts remote sales — e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches may no longer be sold online. Advertising of these products will also be prohibited.
