On May 25, the Russian Embassy in Sweden reported a new drone-related incident targeting its premises.
In a public statement, the embassy said that during the night, it “was subjected to another drone attack.” The drone reportedly flew over the embassy grounds and released a glass container filled with paint near the main entrance.
“The incident is made particularly cynical by the fact that the drone operators used a glass container, which, when dropped from a height, is capable of causing serious injuries to people,” the Russian Embassy lamented.
The embassy noted that similar incidents have been happening repeatedly for more than a year.
Russian diplomats claim to have raised the issue multiple times with Swedish police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but say their concerns have not been addressed.
“This clearly demonstrates Stockholm’s disregard for fundamental norms of international law. Responsibility for any possible consequences of such incidents will lie with the Swedish authorities,” the Russian Embassy stated.
