Kim Jong Un condemns US “Golden Dome” missile defense, warns of nuclear war in space

Following the announcement of the new American missile defense initiative dubbed the “Golden Dome,” North Korea responded with sharp criticism and nuclear threats.

President Donald Trump unveiled the project, which is inspired by Israel’s “Iron Dome” system. The “Golden Dome” is expected to be operational within three years, featuring satellites and interceptors stationed in space designed to neutralize advanced missile threats from China and Russia. The project carries an estimated price tag of $175 billion.

Both Moscow and Beijing have expressed strong opposition, stating that the US plan “destabilizes” global security and risks turning outer space into a military battleground.

Kim Jong Un escalated the rhetoric via North Korea’s official KCNA news agency, accusing the United States of “attempting to unleash nuclear war in space.”

“The ‘Golden Dome’ is a typical product of the America First policy — the height of complacency, arrogance, overconfidence, and lawlessness. This project represents a scenario of nuclear war in space,” Kim Jong Un said.

Meanwhile, North Korea continues to bolster its military technology, recently demonstrating AI-powered kamikaze drones and an aircraft equipped with early warning system capabilities.
