A tragic accident occurred in western Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where a light sport aircraft lost control and crashed into the terrace of a residential house. The incident took place in the early afternoon of May 31 in the area of Korschenbroich.
According to Tagesschau, the aircraft was piloted by a 71-year-old woman flying solo from Thuringia to Mönchengladbach. She was only a few kilometers from her destination when she issued a distress signal. The pilot did not survive the crash.
The second fatality is believed to be a resident of the house the plane struck. While their identity has not yet been officially confirmed, all available information suggests the individual was inside the building at the time of the crash. The impact triggered a fire that caused significant damage to the property.
This is not the first such incident in Germany this year. In March, a similar accident occurred when a light aircraft crashed on the grounds of a private estate, killing the pilot.
