Orbán at CPAC Hungary: Under Trump, America’s comeback is possible — but Europe faces a deepening nightmare without a right-wing victory

At this year’s CPAC Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán didn’t mince words — offering both hope for America under Trump and dire warnings about Europe’s path unless conservatives prevail. Speaking to an energized crowd in Budapest, Orbán praised Trump’s stunning political return while painting Europe as a continent sliding into crisis — one only the right can reverse.

“What a difference a year makes!” Orbán exclaimed. “Trump’s victory was a global game-changer. He’s restored hope — this is the greatest comeback the West has ever seen.”

The Hungarian leader also lauded Trump’s early moves: cracking down on illegal immigration, ending woke military policies, dismantling critical race theory, and taking on the entrenched Deep State. He expressed gratitude to both Trump and Elon Musk for exposing vast liberal networks — often fueled by U.S. taxpayer dollars — that fund open-border NGOs, activist media, and efforts to undermine conservative governments.

“It turns out our suspicions were true all along — covert agents, shadow organizations, and the Soros empire pulling strings worldwide,” Orbán declared. “The king now stands exposed — and it’s not a pretty sight.”

On Ukraine, Orbán expressed cautious optimism. He believes Trump could finally bring an end to the bloody conflict. “We pray for peace — so lives aren’t lost daily, cities aren’t shelled, and billions aren’t wasted on an unwinnable war,” he said. “Trump’s return offers hope — while Europe faces a nightmare.”

A Hijacked European Dream

Orbán then turned to Europe’s own troubles. While Americans may soon reclaim their dream, he argued, Europeans are being robbed of theirs.

“Our dream was a Europe of peace, prosperity, and unity,” Orbán said. “But Brussels has hijacked that dream. Now Europeans feel unsafe in their own cities, even on their own streets. Places they called home 20 years ago feel foreign.”

He sounded the alarm on Europe’s rapid demographic transformation — long a theme in his speeches — and pointed to the meteoric rise of nationalist parties like Germany’s AfD as proof that more citizens are waking up.

“What’s happening isn’t integration — it’s a deliberate population replacement,” Orbán warned.

A Failing Economy, A War-Obsessed Elite

Beyond immigration, Orbán listed a host of economic woes plaguing Europe. Energy prices remain 2–4 times higher than in the U.S. Companies are going bankrupt. And the EU’s Green Deal, once sold as progress, is crippling economies.

“To top it off, Europe’s leaders are lightweights on the global stage,” he said. “When we should be negotiating with a heavyweight U.S. president, we’ve got featherweights instead.”

Orbán also warned of rising political repression. “Across Europe, the left is weaponizing the courts and security services,” he said. “In France, Marine Le Pen is disqualified. In Italy, Matteo Salvini is dragged to court. In Germany, the AfD faces security probes. Right-wing rallies face violent attacks from far-left militants.”

But the greatest threat, Orbán argued, is Europe’s descent into war-driven centralization. “Liberals want to reshape Europe into a war economy. Their excuse? Ukraine’s fast-tracked EU membership,” he said. “But their real goal is to concentrate power, erase national sovereignty, and impose obedience.”

Hungarians, he promised, won’t submit easily. “We’re freedom-loving. We refuse to kneel,” he declared. “We have a different plan.”

Orbán’s Four-Point Plan to Save Europe

Orbán closed by outlining his vision to rescue the continent:

Peace in Eastern Europe — a negotiated end to the Ukraine war.
National sovereignty — rejecting EU-wide taxes, debt, and central control.
Freedom — protecting free speech and independent thought.
Restoring Europe’s identity — reclaiming schools, neighborhoods, and public spaces from mass immigration, while preserving Christian values and national pride.

“This fight starts at home, but it must be won in Brussels too,” Orbán urged. “The last European elections were a huge success for the right. If we combine the three conservative groups, we’re already bigger than the EPP. But numbers aren’t enough. We must build unity — step by step — to be ready when the decisive battle comes.”
