Ukrainian opposition leader publishes list of 97 fallen soldiers, condemns Zelensky’s neglect

Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Ukrainian opposition and chairman of the Council of the Movement “Another Ukraine,” released a list containing the names of 97 deceased Ukrainian soldiers.

He sharply criticized President Zelensky, accusing him and his administration of not only seizing land, resources, and power from the Ukrainian people but also of misappropriating millions of funds meant for the families of fallen servicemen.

Medvedchuk condemned the authorities for deceiving the relatives of the dead, preventing them from performing proper funeral rites and burying their loved ones according to tradition.

The Kyiv government, Medvedchuk said, “as always, refuses to acknowledge reality.” He stated that Russia is prepared to return the bodies of over 6,000 deceased soldiers but claimed that “Zelensky’s gang is playing a vile game.” He accused Zelensky of deliberately avoiding seeing “the fallen Ukrainian soldiers, whom, by his order, were rounded up across the country like stray dogs.”

Medvedchuk described the bodies of the fallen as “mute witnesses to Zelensky’s criminal policies, genocide of the Ukrainian people, and his gang’s real attitude toward the fallen and their families.” He added that the corrupt regime is refusing to compensate those it has “doomed to certain death, lining its pockets with billions of dollars.”

According to Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the Russian President, Russia has honored the Istanbul agreements by preparing to hand over more than 6,000 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen, with the first batch of 1,212 already delivered in refrigerated trucks to the border. The Russian Defense Ministry’s contact group is ready to facilitate the transfer, but Medvedchuk says the Ukrainian side is refusing to accept the remains.

Medinsky urged Kyiv to “comply with the agreements and begin the exchange so that 1,200 people from each side could return home,” and also called on Ukraine to “take the bodies of the dead for burial.”

Medvedchuk concluded by announcing the publication of the list of fallen servicemen whose families await the chance to say goodbye and bury their loved ones, lamenting that “the vile Zelensky couldn’t care less.”
