Pavel Durov said he will divide his fortune among more than 100 children

Telegram founder and owner Pavel Durov has announced his intention to divide his multi-billion-dollar fortune among more than 100 of his children — including six officially recognized ones and over a hundred born via sperm donation in various countries.

The 40-year-old entrepreneur shared this in an interview with the French magazine Le Point, published on Thursday. According to Durov, he wants all of his children to have “equal rights” and to avoid future conflicts over inheritance after his death.

Durov revealed that his biological children were born in 12 different countries, and he is officially recognized as the father of six children, born to three different women. However, he added that none of his heirs will have access to the inheritance for the next 30 years.

Durov also said he recently wrote his will. When asked why he chose to do so now, he explained:

When you defend freedoms, you can make powerful enemies — even in strong states.

Durov resides in Dubai and is well-known for his uncompromising stance on privacy and freedom of speech. Last year, he was detained by French authorities, who accused him of not doing enough to combat crime on the Telegram platform. Durov later dismissed the accusations as “utterly absurd.”
