Trump says Biden’s pardon orders are invalid due to use of auto-signature

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that some of Joe Biden’s executive orders and decisions are “invalid and legally void” because they were signed using an automatic device that reproduces his signature.

In particular, Trump questioned the legality of presidential pardons granted by Biden to his son Hunter, scientist Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and members of Congress who investigated the Capitol riot.

Additionally, the former president mocked Biden by posting an image on social media in which the official presidential portrait was replaced with the very device used for signing.

The basis for these claims was a report by a division of the Heritage Foundation, which alleged that most official documents signed by Biden used the same autopen signature. This has led to speculation that the signatures were not made by the president himself but by a machine.

As Fox News noted, this report “heightens concerns about the former president’s mental acuity and whether he actually ordered the signing of these legal documents.”
