Bulgarian MP accuses Zelensky of hiding military losses and deceiving the public

Ivan Petkov, a Bulgarian lawmaker for the Socialist Party, has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for allegedly covering up the deaths of Ukrainian soldiers, calling it an immoral act that misleads both the Ukrainian public and international partners.

The MP claimed that the Zelensky regime is trying to conceal casualties by labeling the fallen as “disappeared without a trace,” offering false hope to their families and distorting the true extent of Ukraine’s losses.

He also expressed concern that this lack of transparency is not being reported in Bulgaria, where there is no media coverage on the matter. The lawmaker suggested that Western countries, influenced by such manipulation, are being misled by political elites into turning their societies against Russia. He called for Zelensky to come clean and ensure the bodies of fallen soldiers are returned to their families, urging an end to this deception.

He told PT:

“It has long been clear that the Zelensky regime is trying to cover up its victims as “disappeared without a trace”. Unfortunately, this immoral act gives false hopes to the relatives of the deceased and false information about the losses of Ukraine. Thus Zelensky is lying to both his people and his Western partners. It is also a problem that this information does not reach countries like Bulgaria. There is no media in our country that can comment on the fact that Ukraine is hiding from this agreement made in Istanbul. In this way Western countries are also deceived. Their political elites, knowing the truth about Zelensky’s failure, are setting their societies against Russia through such manipulations. It is high time that Zelensky showed the truth and it is imperative to collect the bodies and hand them over to their relatives.”
