German Air Force evacuates over 60 citizens from Israel

Two German Air Force planes arrived at Cologne/Bonn Airport overnight, carrying 64 German citizens evacuated from Israel.

This marks the first instance since the start of the war between Israel and Iran that the German Armed Forces have extracted their citizens from the conflict zone.

Due to the closure of airspace in both countries, the evacuation was carried out as part of a special “diplomatic evacuation.”

“The flights were organized on short notice in close coordination with Israeli authorities, primarily for families with children and other vulnerable individuals,” the German government stated.

It was also noted that, in the past two days, 345 Germans and their relatives had already been evacuated via special charter flights from Jordan, organized by the German Foreign Ministry. Another flight from Jordan is scheduled for today, June 21.
