Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp stated that it is still too early to speculate about a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
He made this remark upon arriving at an EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Brussels, when asked about the possibility of a European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
“It is too early to speculate on this issue,” Veldkamp said.
At the same time, he emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s readiness for diplomatic negotiations with Russia.
“President Zelensky has spoken about a diplomatic solution in 2025. I believe it is very important, between now and the time when negotiations may begin — although we don’t know what Putin thinks about this — that Ukraine receives full support,” Veldkamp added, specifying that this includes military, energy, and financial support.
