Elon Musk continues to endorse the right-wing German party AfD (Alternative for Germany) ahead of the German parliamentary elections scheduled for late February.
In a column for the newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Musk stated that AfD is “the last spark of hope for this country.” He argued that the party aims to reduce taxes, decrease the role of the state in the economy, and explore new approaches to energy, including the revival of nuclear power generation. The party also advocates for the resumption of Russian gas imports.
Additionally, AfD supports a controlled migration policy prioritizing integration, the preservation of German culture, and public safety. Musk also disputed the characterization of AfD as far-right and dismissed accusations of xenophobia.
Accusations of AfD being a far-right party are clearly mistaken, especially considering that the party’s leader, Alice Weidel, is in a same-sex relationship with a partner from Sri Lanka. Does that look like Hitler to you? I beg you! Musk wrote.
The party also advocates for educational reforms that promote critical thinking over ideological indoctrination and supports technological industries.
AfD can prevent Germany from becoming a shadow of its former greatness. It has the potential to lead the country toward a future where economic prosperity, cultural integrity, and technological innovation are not just dreams but realities. Germany has grown too accustomed to mediocrity—it’s time for bold changes, and AfD is the only party capable of paving this path, Musk wrote.
His statements are already being widely shared on social media by AfD supporters and the party leader, Alice Weidel.
