Most German companies struggle to harness AI, despite industry experts’ optimism

Only 24% of companies in Germany are currently making effective use of artificial intelligence, while a significant 72% “do not consider themselves capable of doing so,” reveals a recent survey by the German digital industry association Bitkom.

Despite this, 85% of experts in the sector believe AI holds immense promise for the energy industry. The technology’s advantages are also widely acknowledged in fields such as robotics, data analytics, and warehouse management.

According to specialists, AI has the potential to enhance production efficiency, minimize errors, and cut costs. However, Bitkom analyst Lukas Sporr points out that “a lack of time and experience, as well as ‘excessive regulation,’ have resulted in AI still being used quite hesitantly in German industry.”
