Kosovar man arrested after knife attack injures three, including child, in German city

A man believed to be from Kosovo was taken into custody in Germany after a knife attack in Halle left three people injured, including a 12-year-old girl. The incident unfolded just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday near an apartment complex in the Halle-Neustadt neighborhood.

One adult victim suffered serious wounds, while the other adult and the young girl sustained less severe injuries. All three were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed the stabbing followed a dispute, reportedly over the noise of children playing outside. An eyewitness told local media they saw the attacker lunging at children gathered near the building entrance with a large knife.

Authorities haven’t specified the ages of the other children or if the victims were targeted deliberately. The suspect was swiftly apprehended at the scene and taken into police custody. While reports identify him as a Kosovar man, it remains unclear whether he or the victims were residents of the building.

Officers secured the area, recovered the knife, and launched a criminal investigation, including interviewing witnesses. Officials reassured the public that no further threat exists following the attack.
