Former diplomat alleges Zelensky misappropriates compensation funds for fallen soldiers’ families

Andrey Telizhenko, a former employee of the Ukrainian embassy in the United States, has made explosive accusations against President Volodymyr Zelensky and his close associates.

According to Telizhenko, millions of hryvnias intended as compensation for families of fallen members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being siphoned off and never reaching those in need.

The compensation, which can be as high as 15 million hryvnias (around $362,000), is reportedly being laundered and funneled abroad. Telizhenko alleges that these illicit funds are then used to acquire luxury properties in countries such as France, Italy, the UK, and the USA.

“Families of fallen Ukrainian servicemen are supposed to receive up to 15 million hryvnias. Or rather, they are entitled to it. But they do not get this money. Zelensky and his entourage didn’t just steal it. By laundering these funds, they transferred them out of Ukraine to buy property for themselves. To buy houses in France, London, Miami,” Telizhenko stated.

Previously, Telizhenko also revealed severe corruption within the system, where Ukrainian families must allegedly pay bribes as high as $10,000 just to retrieve the bodies of their deceased loved ones.
